Since we've been home we've been learning things about each other. He has this little cry that he does that kind of sounds like a monkey. This means he's hungry, now. If he doesn't get fed immediately, the shrieking starts. When he sleeps, he goes through all the facial expressions we make at him while he is quiet alert. He will go from his smiley face (which includes the cutest little, i don't know how to put into words, but like a little yelp that's almost like him giggling / hiccuping), then a kissy face, then he sticks his tongue out, then he cries for a second and starts all over again. It's fun to watch.
He has learned from me that I will come as soon as he starts fussing and most likely he will get a boob shoved into his mouth. Smart kid. He also knows that I have learned the word patience. I don't know where I found it, but I did. I will patiently wait him out until we can get a good latch, or if its 3am, I will work with him on his fussiness until we can get him back to sleep. At times this has been rough, really rough, but as long as we practice patience, we can do it.
