Diego,
You turned 6 months old on Saturday. I can't believe how quickly the months have rolled by. You have been in our lives for half a year already! And how amazing this half year has been. Each day, your personality just gets bigger and bigger.
By now, you have your "Da da da da's" down and are starting to throw in a few other sounds. Sometimes you'll whisper your da da's and it is the cutest thing i've ever heard. You have also mastered the squeal and the frustrated grunt. Your squeals can be of delight followed by the cutest laughs or to get our attention because you are not happy about something and then it's followed by the grunt. It's like you are saying "get me out of this high chair, I'm done eating!".
You still haven't sat up on your own yet, but you try all the time and you grab our fingers to pull you up. You've been sitting well on your own though, once we help you up. You have also turned into quite the roly poly. You never sit still, always rolling from one side to the other.
You are quite the musician in the making. Daddy just got a new guitar for father's day, and it makes you so happy when he plays it for you. You throw your arms up in delight as if you were trying to dance. You love to put your hands up to the guitar and feel the vibrations. You are also getting quite good at strumming (or more like pulling) on the strings! You also have a new xylophone toy that just amazes you. Every time you bang on it, the different pretty sounds it makes, get you excited.
Your introduction to solids has been so much fun. You have now tried Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Butternut Squash, Pears and Bananas. Pears being your least favorite. You really, really love the sweet potatoes and the butternut squash. I can't wait to introduce you to avocados and apples and then a combo of some of these. All these new flavors!!!
Diego, each day that passes you fill my heart up more and more. I miss you terribly when I'm away from you and look forward to the time I get to spend with you. Happy Half Birthday!!!
