Our 4th of July / Oma's Birthday!

Ever since I was a little girl I loved 4th of July. It is my mom's birthday, and I always thought wow, my mom must be super special since the whole country celebrates with fireworks!!!! It was fun to think that! and I'll be sure to pass that on to D! "D, your Oma is so special that the whole country is celebrating her birthday with fireworks!!!". Teehee.

Well, this fourth of July was really mellow. Our cousin Marita and her son from Argentina were in town, so they met up with us to celebrate. We had a really nice breakfast, then went back to my parent's place and hung out by the pool for a little while.

In the evening, we put D to bed at his usual time. He's a cranky guy if he's kept up after his bed time, so we decided next year will be good for a fireworks show. After he went down, Justin and I stepped out around my parents condo complex to the back where you have a view of greater Los Angeles. We got to watch fireworks that were going off all over LA. It's pretty fun to see all the different shows in the distance from there...until the mosquitos start biting, so we called it a night.
Over all, it was a super nice day and I can't wait for D to experience it next year. Fireworks are probably one of my most favorite things. I hope he will love them as much as I do.
