Ok, so I've been meaning to post a bunch of photos, but as my luck with technology has it, my mac doesn't want to download my photos from the last month and a half! I have so much to update you all with!!!
For now, I'll talk about the significance of yesterday. Yesterday, June 6th, was D's first day in real day care. Not in family care, but in "stranger" day care. They're not so much strangers any more as we had a couple of "test" runs last week. You know, the first time where I take him for an hour and he gets to hang out and play while I'm there. The second time, I take him for an hour again, but this time I leave, then come back and pick him up. Sure he did well for those 1 hour test runs. But how was he going to fare for 8 hours?
Let me back track a little. After we moved to Portland, I was able to spend 4 lovely months at home with him. Best. Time. Ever. But sadly, work beckoned. I am so lucky and thankful that just before I was to start my new job, my folks came into town to visit for a whole MONTH!!! So amazing. It gave Justin and I time to really think about where we were going to send D for day care. It was to be someone who had the same values as we do when it comes to nurturing, etc.
D got to spend an amazing month with his grandparents. They really bonded. Everything is Abu y Oma! But the day came where they had to go back home on Tuesday. Justin and I decided that it would be best to have him in day care 3 days a week. So, Uncle Tony got to take care of him on Tuesday. D loves his cousins, so that went super well.
Wednesday, Justin dropped him off at Day Care. I periodically checked in via email with the owner. I was amazed to hear that he did so well. He napped really well, ate really well, and even KISSED A GIRL!!!
This marks another milestone in my baby's life. He is a full on TODDLER. Where did my little baby go?!
Ok - I promise as soon as we're done moving - oh yeah - we're moving - again! But this time, we found a GREAT house to rent. This one is a keeper. We even have room now for Auntie Carma to move in with us at the end of July, making her move from LA an easy one, I hope. I know D is gonna LOVE having her around. Ok so as I was saying - I promise to post a backlog of photos. I have so many good ones!!
