I wanted to take a quick moment to say that updating this blog has been bittersweet. Especially now that I'm getting into the December photos. It's really heartbreaking to think that there are going to be so many families out there that will no longer have blogs like this to update or new photos of their babies to share with friends and families. It has been a difficult week in news and I cry every time I see one of those little angel's photos. I am so ever grateful that I can still hold my baby, and take photos and share them.
I came across a twitter hashtag of #26acts and researched it to find that there are so many people doing 26 acts of kindness in honor of the victims. I love the idea! I don't really have the funds to do much, and we've been so busy with work, birthdays, and soon travelling that I'm happy that I found this link. I can definitely do this. I wanted to share this in case any one else wanted to join in.
Ok, so on to our December photos.
Our first December outing was to the Festival of the Trees. Daddy got tickets through his work, and we got to take Grandpa along with us. It was basically a showcase of different Christmas trees decorated by different organizations from Portland. They also had a few activities for the kiddos. There was face painting, a make shift hospital for teddy bears, and even an awesome Santa to take photos with!
D's first face painting. He picked Frosty, his favorite Christmas character.
Picking out a jingle bell for our necklace.
Coloring with Grandpa
Waiting in line for Santa.
Ok, so the whole time in line he couldn't wait to get to Santa, and when we finally do, he froze up. At least he wasn't scared like last years photo. I love this Santa, by the way. His smile is the best.
Our next adventure was Christmas Tree hunting. Our Cousin's always go to the same U-Cut farm every year for their tree. So he took us this year to get ours too. What fun! Poor D, though, he was so excited to pick out a tree and bring it home, but he fell asleep on the way there. I didn't want him to miss out on the fun, so we woke him up, but as you can see, he was still pretty sleepy.
Boys will be boys.
Timber!
Shakin' the spiders out of the tree.
Wrapping it up.
