Afterwards we went to "Nina Yeye's" house to decorate the Christmas tree. It's weird not having our own place yet, which means, no tree of our own to decorate. It's one of my favorite yearly traditions, Christmas Music (not your traditional type, but I have my punk rock Christmas tunes I love to play), Egg Nog, and the Tree. I didn't want D to miss out on his first holiday season, so I asked my sister to wait for us to do the decorating. After the tree was done, we headed back home and I baked a couple dozen sugar cookies for D's birthday party next week. By the time they were done I was ready for bed. Decorating the cookies had to wait one more day.
Good thing too, cause on Sunday, Nina Yeye and the Artiga cousin's came over and they helped us decorate (and eat) the cookies. We had a great time playing with our cousins. And I'm super lucky to have such an artistic Sister and Cousin. Lucky for me, they created some awesome looking cookies. I can bake a good cookie, but don't ask me to decorate!!! The cookies looks so good I wanted to eat them up all, but that must wait. They are for Diego's birthday party.
The rest of this week will be dedicated to creating, baking, cutting, and glueing and anything else we'll need to do for D's bday. This is my first kid's party, but this is also kind of like our going away. I want to make sure it's special and looks great too.
Oh, and daddy is coming back home this week. We can't wait to see him!
